Cadbury's Marvellous Creations

Starting a new venture or ending one on a good note, celebrating happiness to overcoming a sad phase, chocolate is the most sought after solution when it comes to sweets. And if you’ve grown up in the Subcontinent, you’d definitely be familiar with ‘Kuch Meetha Hojaye’ by Cadbury Dairy Milk.

The association with Cadbury is so strong ever since our childhood that I’m bound to try all the variants they have come up with over the years. Be it the roasted almonds, fruit and nut, Oreo, the fairly recent Silk versions or the classic plain milk chocolate bar. Adding to that league, they’ve come up with two new creations, calling them the Marvellous Creations which are available in Jelly Popping Candy and Cookie Gummy Crunch.

I tried both of them with my work colleagues and each one of us had a different opinion. I was fascinated by the Jelly Popping Candy one while my partner in crime, Sumbul is obsessed with Cookie Gummy Crunch. The feel when popping candy emerges from that signature smooth milk chocolate and crackles on your tongue reminds me of the crazy experiments we used to do as children.

A week later, I was graciously invited by Asiatic PublicRelations to Mondelēz Pakistan’s PR event for their new sub brand, Marvellous Creations. The activity planned was executed at a local mall in Karachi based on a carnival theme. The basic point was to engage families and kids and eventually spread joy in the lives of their consumers. The setup had games to attract the people and a photo booth was also set up to capture moments of people who tried these variants for the first time.

Even though I’m in my mid-twenties, who says no to a fun game? You got it right, not me. I played the two that I could stand in the queue for. And guess what, I WON. :D

The gift and the giveaway from APR
You can find more details on the on ground activity on #MarvellousCreations and #CadburyDairyMilk

Meanwhile, which one do you prefer out of the two, Jelly Popping Candy or Cookie Gummy Crunch?

#WasimAkramNewsApp - The Cricket Encyclopedia

Wasim Akram’s Cricket News app helps cricket fans stay ahead of the game

Cricket fans can get the latest news and views on their favourite sport straight to their phone thanks to a new app from one of the game’s greatest legends.

Former Pakistani bowler, Wasim Akram has released an innovative free mobile app that will let fans stay ahead of the game.

The Wasim Akram’s Cricket News app, being released for mobile devices and tablets just in time for the 2016 Pakistan Super League tournament, will gather all the latest news, videos and social media updates from all forms of cricket in one place.

It contains 24/7 updates from everyone who matters in the cricketing world, from every player of every team to journalists, columnists, legends and other opinion leaders.

Wasim is the first cricketer from Pakistan to provide his fans with a custom SportRightNow mobile app thanks to a partnership with www.RightNowDigital.com.

He said: “I trialled the app last year and I found it was vital to my work as a pundit.“

“It was definitely the best way to keep up to date with all the inside news on the teams and I’m really excited other cricket fans are now going to enjoy the benefits of this amazing app.

“With Wasim Akram’s Cricket News, fans will no longer have to trawl the web for cricket news because they will be able to read what their favourite papers, websites, blogs and personalities have to say about this amazing sport, all in one place.”

Simon Ryley, director of RightNowDigital, developed the technology after becoming annoyed at how difficult it was to keep up with his favourite football team on a smartphone.

He said: “It seems crazy that sports fans have to do the same daily trawl around the internet looking for updates when we can do that for them and also eliminate the pain of finding and following their favourite players on social media.

“Think of it as being able to walk into a newsagent and look at every single newspaper or magazine, rip out all the bits about cricket, and leave without paying a penny.”

Wasim Akram’s Cricket News is free to download on both Android and Apple devices.

For more updates, you can check #WasimAkramNewsApp on all digital platforms.

#NeedMorePower? Inifnix Note 2 LTE is your fix!

Keeping up with the New Year spirits, how about a new year, new phone instead of a new me this year? [cuz let’s face it, new me is not happening anytime soon. ^_^] Speaking of a new phone, Christmas ’15 in Pakistan brought with it the newest addition to the NOTE series by Infinix Pakistan, the Infinix NOTE 2 LTE.

If you’re an avid smartphone user like me, there’s three benchmarks that I have set to test any new phone in the market. Fast and smooth operating system (courtesy of the bazillion applications), Camera (blame the Instagram and Snapchat fever) and Battery Life (to keep up with the former two). Now let’s see how this new phone in the market makes up to these factors.

Operating System

According to their brief, Infinix Mobility chooses MT6753 Mediatek chipset to empower the NOTE 2 LTE. The electronic component is based on ARM® Cortex®-A53 64-bit octa-core processor 1.3 GHz. The MT6753 supports high performance wireless networks including 4G LTE. It is released with a 2GB RAM which facilitates multi-tasking experience; it is up to 30 Apps that can be opened and smoothly used without any system crash.

Software wise, NOTE 2 LTE comes with a fresh and redesigned User Interface named XUI. XUI offers a better design, faster screen responsiveness and is energy efficient. The interface comes with a series of new features and Apps. Users can access a variety of pre-installed themes to customize their Infinix NOTE 2 LTE.

To cut it short, it is an Android version 5.1 and the best.

Camera

NOTE 2 LTE is equipped with an advanced 13 Mega pixel rear camera and an optimized 3P lens 2 Mega pixel front camera f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera features a Samsung S5K3M2 ISOCELL CMOS sensor and 5P lens with an f/2.0 sensor aperture offering a 78 degree shooting angle.

This should keep one in a better place for all the pictures to be taken or Instameets in my case.

Battery Life

Talking about battery; NOTE 2 LTE is built with a 4040 mAh Li-polymer battery.  The large battery is made to last for 2 days. With a 4040 mAh battery, it allows for 80% more daily tasks and productivity. Up to 30 hours talk time, 12 hours of video viewing, 45 hours of music listening and 10 hours of Internet experience.

With fast charging technology, Infinix NOTE 2 LTE will definitely simplify and improve users’ life. NOTE 2 offers a 15 min fast charge for 8 hours with a 4.5A current.

Just when you think that’s enough for a good phone, there’s more. The Infinix NOTE 2 LTE offers a bright and large 5.98” inch screen with slim bezels that maximize the space of the display. Its stunning HD 720 X1280 resolution display reproduces natural colors with deep contrast.

So the next time you’re too lazy to grab your laptop to watch that movie with your chums or have your own home alone party, you know what you can have right by your side.

All in all, it is a great phone for all these high end specifications while being priced at only PKR 16,999. So go ahead, treat yourself to this new little friend or gift it to those who #NeedMorePower in their life.

You can order this exclusively from Daraz.pk

What's #TumMeinAurAikCupChai about?

Are you a woman?

Are you a Chai-vanist?

Want someone to make a cuppa for you?

If you nodded to those, this is for you.

And if you’re a man who supports the women in your life, this is for you too.

It is an age long thought in the subcontinental culture that the women in the house are entitled to handle the domestic chores along with serving their husbands.

The new campaign by Tapal Danedar is aimed at reversing these gender roles for the very first time and ending this monotony. The TVC features a husband and wife relationship in which the husband takes the responsibility of making a cup of tea for his wife, to acknowledge her efforts and comfort her after a busy day.

Any relationship survives only when there is a balance, similarly, Tapal highlights that a husband also plays a significant part in stabilizing a marriage. It’s the beginning of a new era where men are showcased understanding their wives and valuing them.

Keeping in mind this concept Tapal is launching another sub campaign in which they are asking the wives to tag their husbands if they want them to make a cup of tea for them and win prizes. The campaign is running on Facebook and a video a video is posted in which Tapal is asking husbands when was  the last time they made tea for  their wives?  The number of people who admit to not have made any for their wives is amusing.

So, what do you think about Tapal's #TumMeinAurAikCupChai?

Lifewares, Redefining Interiors

A step into your home after a long day out is an absolutely blissful moment and to top it off with a beautiful and cozy interior, it is sure to lift you off of your exhaustion and teleport you into a fairyland. Interwood Mobel, a well-known name for such interior solutions just launched their latest flagship store, Lifewares in Dolmen Mall Clifton, Karachi.

If you’re someone like me who gets more excited in a home décor store rather than a clothes boutique, you’ll have a ball here drooling at the contrasts from antique to chic, modern to contemporary along with the bits and bobs to accompany, all under one roof. Yes, you heard oops, read that right, everything under one damn roof, my heart wanted to sleep in there.

Meanwhile here are some bits for you to indulge in from the store.

It caters to people looking to redo their entire house from scratch as well as those who just want to spruce up some elements in their existing collection. Their products range from flooring to bedding, kids and home decor which are available at affordable prices, making them easily accessible for everyone.

The launch brought in multiple booths set up across the mall replicating different corners of a house to attract the weekend rush and make them indulge in their activities. The most popular one being Be Our Next Model, which was held in the mall’s main atrium. A living room both was recreated using pieces from their own collection and professional photographers were ready to click your ideal moments, the participants not only took home framed memories, but 5 lucky winners stand a chance to be featured on Lifeware’s billboard’s as their next models!

You never know, I may be one of those lucky one’s, of course I tried my luck. ;)

Sadly, you can’t be a model anymore, but hey, you can still avail flat 10% off the entire store till the 6th of December at their Dolmen Mall Outlet. And in case you’re a lazy bum or a cyber addict, you can shop online at Interwood’s newly revamped webpage.

Furthermore, check #MyLifewares on social platforms to catch up on the buzz.

Until next time, adios.

Nestle: #First1000Days

The common conception about the existence of each child in this world is considered to be since the day they are born. However, Nestle Pakistan’s Start Healthy, Stay Healthy bloggers meet held on 12th September, 2015 at Pearl Continental Hotel, Karachi, gave it a new approach.

Dr. Huma Fahim, who is a Medical Advisor in Nestle Nutrition, revealed that the #First1000Days start as soon as the baby develops in the mother’s womb and last till the child is about 2 years old. The nutrition that one consumes in this pre and post natal phase is very crucial and plays an important part in shaping the health of an individual later on in life. Some eye opening insights being:

  • Taste buds are developed in the first 270 days when the baby is in the womb.
  • A child achieves 50% of total height in the first 2 years, it just doubles over time.
  • Lack of proper diet in the last 5 decades has decreased the average height by 4inches.
  • Most of the brain development is complete by the time a child is 2 years old.
  • Weaning is recommended till at least 6 months of age.
  • And lastly, potatoes are not considered as vegetables. (My life ends there, Sigh!)

Waqar Ahmad, the Head of Corporate Affairs, said, “Nestlé has an expertise in nutrition and believes it has a responsibility to share that expertise. We want to promote better health through good nutrition in the first 1,000 days of life. Research shows that children who don’t get proper nutrition in their early years can’t fully develop their physical and cognitive potential and are at an increased risk of poor health as adults."

Team Nestle with Team TDF
The presentations were wrapped up with a quiz; which surely brought back science test scenes from back in the day, only difference these weren’t graded, so hurray, and everyone still got a goody bag, more cheers. The evening ended on a delicious hi-tea spread (vegetarian woes were taken care of, thankfully) and socializing with likeminded folks, also known as friends.

The Digital Factory is to be credited for organizing this event and inviting bloggers and key opinion influencers who all pledged to use their influence to raise awareness about the importance of nutrition in the First 1000 Days of a child’s life on behalf of Nestle Pakistan.
